The Finchley Art Society was founded in 1949 by Paul Smyth, teacher and artist.

  • To promote interest in the visual arts in the Borough

  • To hold periodic exhibitions of members’ work

  • To hold regular meetings for the purpose of criticism, discussion, demonstration and practical work

  • To arrange sketching outings and such other relevant to the interests of the Society

FAS exists to encourage local artists at all levels to practice and develop their skills.  There is no formal tuition.  However, there are many experienced members who will advise anyone who would like assistance.
